"I don't feel
different to anybody. I never felt pressure from being a Heguy, and
the decision to play polo was mine alone. What I learnt from my father,
I did by watching him. He wouldn't talk too much, or give you a lecture
on how to play".

History
"The best polo player of the world" |
 |
|
| The third generation
of Heguys, with Horacio and Alberto Pedro, broke one record after
another with Coronel Suárez, and the fruitful next generation
would see to it that the family tradition remained unbroken. In the
year 1990, in replacement of Alex Garrahan, the youngest of Horacio's
sons, Bautista, joins Chapaleufú
and a polo legend dawns.
"Bautista was only a boy but he
had very promising prospects, and his brothers started to plan his
integration to the team. It was their greatest wish and what they
most enjoyed."
(Nora Heguy)

My
Place |
 |
|
For me, my place in La Pampa
is the best spot in the world.
It's the place where I'm going
to live some day, where I go
back to when I return from a trip.
That's what perhaps keeps me
from accepting so many trips
abroad: missing the countryside.
It's the place where I enjoy myself the most.

The Argentine Open
"Nobody can compare Palermo to a thing, it
stands in a class of its own. It's the great dream of every polo player,
the driving force of a year's work. Material value has nothing to do with
it. At the Argentine Open everything is put at stake, even the honour and
dreams of a lifetime.
Just two words are enough to describe 'Palermo' for a polo player. Never
mind place of birth, the time spent in practice, low or high-goal handicap.
Anybody who ever got on a horse, took a mallet and tried to hit the ball,
dreams of playing at least for a few minutes in The Cathedral.
Palermo is Palermo, period. It is History, with names and characters of
legend, and it is the present with the players who take part in the Open
today, and later sit on the stalls to watch some more polo."
The open I enjoyed the most was the one of '95,
because of Horacito. The first one was really good, but '95 was fantastic.
They had said we wouldn't be able to play anymore. We ourselves didn't
know what was going to happen, and we ended up winning at Palermo. It
was grand. Horacito proved that he was fine, that he could keep on playing.
I think the crowd took to us because we are brothers. Family bonds can
be a strong influence. And the way of playing, too. (Bautista Heguy)
